The following data can be obtained with a simple scan via the OBD and key reading using the
Vehicle Inspection Kit:
• Vehicle Identification Number – the VIN Reader and its designated app will show the VIN number of the vehicle in every possible module where it is contained and point out discrepancies! Moreover, it will cross-check two stolen vehicle databases and show results immediately. This can be extremely useful in routine border checks and operations, for example.
• General Vehicle Diagnostics – using the MODI app you can run simple general diagnostics including vehicle detection, module scanning, health report generating, diagnostic trouble codes reading and clearing, live data display, actuator testing, depending on the vehicle make and model.
• Mileage Data – the VIN Reader app also displays the odometer readings in each module that contains it and makes a comparison, alerting you for mismatch in data, which can be a sign of odometer tampering.
• Complete Key Data – using the Protag and the Key Inspector app, you can read all the data stored in the vehicle’s key in seconds! Depending on the key, various pieces of information can be gathered. From the standard technical info, like transponder frequency, key type, key blade id, VIN of the vehicle; a lot more can be read, like factory colour of the vehicle, last trip, current mileage, fuel levels, in some cases even the vehicle’s owner’s name and address can be stored inside the car key.
